      Introduction

A conventional endoscope with only one forward-facing camera can miss defects or objects located along the side walls of a narrow cavity.

This camera module uses an integrated three-camera structure with one forward-view camera and two side-view cameras, allowing the inspection device to observe different directions without repeatedly rotating or repositioning the camera head.

The 7.9mm camera head integrates the lenses, stainless-steel housing and white LED illumination into one compact structure. It supports 1280×720 imaging through USB 2.0 and can output images from up to two cameras simultaneously, providing a practical imaging direction for inspection systems that need both forward and side visibility.

      Applications in Real Devices

      Industrial Borescope Systems

When inspecting machinery interiors, the target may appear directly ahead or along the inner wall. The three-camera arrangement allows the device to capture forward and side views from the same inspection head, reducing dependence on mechanical rotation.

      Pipe and Channel Inspection Devices

Inside pipes or narrow channels, cracks, deposits or structural features may appear on different surfaces. Forward and side viewing directions help the operator inspect more of the surrounding inner wall while moving the probe through the space.

      Equipment Maintenance Inspection Tools

Maintenance personnel may need to inspect internal components without dismantling the complete equipment. The integrated multi-direction camera head supports visual access to areas that cannot be observed clearly from a single viewing direction.

      Multi-View Endoscope Devices

Some endoscope products need to compare more than one viewing direction during inspection. Support for simultaneous output from up to two cameras gives the system additional flexibility when two perspectives need to be displayed or processed together.

      Project Evaluation Guide

      Consider This Model When

      • One forward view is not enough for the inspection task.
      • Side-wall visibility is important.
      • A three-camera endoscope structure is preferred.
      • The available access diameter can accommodate a 7.9mm camera head.
      • The main working distance is around 5cm.
      • Integrated white illumination is required.
      • USB 2.0 matches the host system.
      • Two camera views may need to be displayed simultaneously.

      Confirm Before Sampling

      • Minimum access diameter.
      • Required forward and side viewing directions.
      • Actual working distance.
      • Whether two simultaneous views are required.
      • Required cable length and routing.
      • Illumination requirement inside the inspection area.
      • Host-side USB and multi-camera display capability.
      • Environmental sealing requirements.

Choosing This Model Within the Endoscope Camera Series

This model represents the three-camera, multi-direction USB inspection direction.

Choose it when the inspection task requires one forward view plus two side views from the same camera head.

Compared with dual-camera models, it provides an additional side-view direction. Compared with a single-camera endoscope, it is better suited to cavities where the area of interest may appear on different surrounding surfaces.

      Camera Viewing Direction

The forward and two side-camera orientations can be evaluated according to the cavity structure and required inspection directions.

      Focus and Optical Setup

Focus distance and lens configuration can be adjusted according to the actual distance between each camera and the target surface.

      LED Illumination

LED arrangement and brightness can be evaluated according to working distance, surface reflectivity and lighting conditions inside the inspection area.

      Cable and USB Integration

Cable length, routing, camera switching, multi-view output and USB connection can be evaluated according to the final host and probe structure.

Final configuration should be validated with the actual host platform, enclosure, optics, software, and lighting environment before sampling.

      FAQ

When is a three-camera endoscope more useful than a dual-camera design?

A three-camera configuration is useful when the inspection area may appear on both sides of the probe as well as directly ahead. If only one side direction needs to be observed, a dual-camera design may provide a simpler structure.

Does the 7.9mm diameter refer to the complete camera head?

For this configuration, the integrated camera-head design is based on a 7.9mm outer diameter, including the multi-camera inspection structure. The available access space should still be checked against the complete endoscope assembly before design freeze.

Why is viewing direction more important than resolution in this type of endoscope?

Inside a narrow cavity, a high-resolution camera cannot capture a target that lies outside its viewing direction. For multi-direction inspection, camera orientation and coverage should therefore be evaluated before simply increasing pixel count.

When is simultaneous dual-camera output useful?

It is useful when the operator or host system needs to observe two directions at the same time rather than repeatedly switch between views. The host-side display and processing architecture should be confirmed before sampling.

Is IP67 enough for every inspection environment?

No. IP67 describes a defined dust- and water-protection level, but actual application conditions may involve chemicals, pressure, temperature or prolonged immersion that require separate evaluation.

What information should be provided before selecting this module?

The most useful information is the access diameter, inspection direction, working distance, target size, illumination condition, cable requirement and host system.
