The standard product follows a Fixed Focus optical direction. M12 or C/CS lens configurations can be evaluated according to working distance, target size and required field of view.
Focus and Imaging Distance
Focus can be set around the intended device working distance rather than relying on active Autofocus. This direction is suitable when the target distance remains relatively stable and the project prioritizes a simpler optical structure.
USB and Output Configuration
USB2.0 UVC is the standard integration direction. MJPG/YUY2 operating modes and target resolution should be evaluated according to host bandwidth, image-processing requirements and whether native 48MP capture or continuous 4K video is the main task.
Mechanical and Housing Integration
Module mounting, cable routing and optional protective housing
can be evaluated according to the available device space. If waterproofing is required, it should be implemented through an additional enclosure rather than assumed from the bare camera module.
Final configuration should be validated with the actual host platform, enclosure, optics, software, and lighting environment before sampling.

When does 48MP provide real value over a lower-resolution USB camera?
48MP is valuable when the target contains small details, the system needs digital cropping, or downstream recognition benefits from retaining more spatial information. If the device only outputs 1080P or observes large targets, the additional native resolution may provide limited practical benefit.
Can SF48A796 output 8K resolution continuously at 30fps?
No. Native 8000×6000 output and 4K30 are different operating modes. The specification lists 8000×6000 MJPG at 5fps, while 3840×2160 MJPG supports 30fps.
Why choose this Fixed Focus model instead of an Autofocus 48MP model?
Choose Fixed Focus when the working distance remains stable and the camera does not need to refocus during normal operation. Autofocus becomes more useful when objects appear at significantly different distances.
Is USB2.0 sufficient for a 48MP camera module?
It can support the defined operating modes by using appropriate resolution and compression settings. However, native 48MP data cannot be treated the same as lower-resolution continuous video, so the host bandwidth and required frame rate should be evaluated together.
Is this model suitable for fast-moving objects?
Its Rolling Shutter architecture means fast movement can introduce geometric distortion depending on exposure and motion conditions. If preserving moving-object geometry is critical, a Global Shutter solution should be evaluated instead.
