      When is SF2A418-CD more suitable than a USB3.0 trigger camera?

      Choose it when USB2.0 UVC already meets the host architecture and 1080P MJPG at up to 60fps is sufficient. USB3.0 becomes more relevant when the project requires higher data bandwidth, different uncompressed modes or another sensor architecture.

      Does External Trigger mean this module is also Global Shutter?

      No. External Trigger controls when acquisition occurs, while shutter architecture determines how the image is exposed across the sensor. The current SF2A418-CD documentation does not identify the sensor as Global Shutter, so that capability should not be assumed.

      Why is the 1080P frame rate different between MJPG and YUY2?

      MJPG compresses image data before USB transmission, reducing bandwidth demand. YUY2 transmits substantially more uncompressed data, so the supported frame rate at 1920×1080 is lower on this USB2.0 configuration.

      How should the lens be selected from the available focal lengths?
