      Introduction

Some products have enough horizontal space for a camera board but almost no vertical room around the display, front panel or enclosure edge.

In these designs, a conventional square camera PCB may be difficult to integrate even when its total area is relatively small.

This slim USB camera module uses an elongated 60×8mm PCB, providing a different mechanical direction for devices where board height is the primary constraint. The module is designed around USB 2.0/UVC integration and a 720P product direction, making it relevant to compact displays, terminals and other embedded devices that need a narrow camera assembly.

      Applications in Real Devices

      Display Bezel Cameras

A display bezel may provide substantial horizontal length but only a few millimeters of PCB height.

The 8mm-wide board can fit this type of elongated mounting area more naturally than a square camera PCB.

      Interactive Display Terminals

Interactive screens and control panels often need a front-facing camera without increasing bezel thickness significantly.

A slim camera board helps keep the imaging hardware within a narrow edge structure.

      Self-Service Equipment

Some kiosks and embedded terminals require a camera above or beside the display where vertical PCB space is tightly limited.

The long, narrow layout provides another integration option without forcing the host enclosure to create a large square camera cavity.

      Slim Embedded USB Devices

Devices already designed around USB video can use a narrow UVC camera architecture when mechanical layout is more restrictive than image-processing complexity.

      Project Evaluation Guide

      Consider This Model When

      • The device has a narrow but elongated camera mounting space.
      • An 8mm PCB width fits the enclosure.
      • 720P imaging is the target direction.
      • USB 2.0 integration is preferred.
      • UVC support matches the host system.
      • A conventional square PCB is difficult to install.
      • The camera is mounted along a display edge or narrow front panel.

      Confirm Before Sampling

      • Actual available PCB height and length.
      • Required video resolution and frame rate.
      • Lens FOV.
      • Working distance and focus range.
      • Host UVC compatibility.
      • Required lens projection height.
      • Connector direction and cable routing.
      • Mounting-hole position.
      • Whether the lens needs to align with a display bezel opening.

Choosing This Model Within the USB Camera Module Series

This model represents the slim elongated USB camera direction.

Choose it when mechanical width is the primary limitation.

Compared with SF-C1014USB-2020-MIC or SF-C1014USB-2525-MIC-H125, this model does not prioritize integrated audio. Its main advantage is the long, narrow PCB format.

Compared with compact rectangular products such as SF-C0319USB-WH03, it uses a much longer board but reduces the vertical PCB dimension to approximately 8mm.

The correct choice therefore depends less on total PCB area and more on the shape of the available installation space.

      PCB and Mechanical Layout

PCB length, width, mounting-hole position and lens location can be evaluated according to the bezel or enclosure structure.

      Lens and Viewing Angle

Lens FOV can be evaluated according to the required scene coverage, user distance and camera mounting position.

      Focus Distance

The Fixed Focus position can be reviewed once the actual working distance and target size are defined.

      USB and Cable Integration

Connector type, cable direction, pin definition and UVC integration can be evaluated according to the host board and internal wiring path.

Final configuration should be validated with the actual host platform, enclosure, optics, software, and lighting environment before sampling.

      FAQ

Why choose a 60×8mm camera instead of a 20×20mm module?

The main difference is the shape of the available mounting space.

A 20×20mm board is shorter but requires more vertical room. A 60×8mm board can fit better along a narrow bezel or elongated enclosure edge.

Is the long PCB more difficult to integrate?

      Not necessarily.

If the enclosure naturally provides horizontal space, the elongated structure may actually simplify placement. The mechanical design should be evaluated by board shape rather than PCB area alone.

Does 720P mean the module supports 1280×720 at 30fps?

The current mechanical drawing identifies the product as a 720P model, but it does not provide a separate frame-rate table.

The exact resolution/frame-rate combination should therefore be confirmed before publishing a specific 1280×720@30fps claim.

Is this suitable for display-mounted cameras?

Mechanically, this is one of the more relevant use directions because of the narrow 8mm PCB width.

The final suitability still depends on lens FOV, working distance and the location of the bezel opening.

      Can the lens be changed?

The optical configuration can be evaluated according to the required field of view and focus distance, but the standard lens parameters should first be confirmed from the full optical specification.

Can another 5Pin USB camera directly replace this module?

      No.

Pin definition, connector position, PCB dimensions, UVC implementation and optical configuration all need to match.

      Request Project Evaluation

If your device has a narrow display bezel or elongated camera mounting area, share the available board length and width, bezel opening, camera-to-user distance and required scene coverage.

SincereFirst can evaluate whether the 60×8mm USB camera structure fits the mechanical design or whether a more compact square PCB would be more appropriate.
